A neighbourhood service covering the whole of France3

It is Toupargel Group strategy for the company to handle internally all the steps in the home delivery of food products, including telemarketing, telesales, order preparation and delivery and to provide a neighbourhood service through a nationwide network. The aim is to be market leader, while developing close relations with its customers, employees and stakeholders.
 

Full, nationwide coverage

Toupargel has 3375 employees working in some 130 sites throughout France. The group has a closely-knit network of 34 telesales agencies and 113 delivery depots, which means products can be delivered to customers anywhere in the country3. Order picking is handled in one of the four logistics platforms and then delivered by the network of 1200 Toupargel customer service employees within 72 hours, in compliance with the cold chain and the time slot given by the customer to the telesales agent.

Large customer base in communities of fewer than 10,000 inhabitants

The Toupargel Group has historically built up its business by delivering food products to customers in communities of fewer than 10,000 inhabitants, a market of some 11 million households, which have little access to neighbourhood shops. The company therefore meets an important need.

Order picking in four dedicated logistics platforms

In 2009, the 4 dedicated “Frozen Foods” logistics platforms, in Argentan (61), Montauban (82), Poitiers (86) and Civrieux d’Azergues (69) prepared more than 7 million orders. The products are packaged in individual cartons, each of which is labelled with a barcode for checking package content.

The Group's information system provides full product traceability, making it possible to identify any product in any order placed by any customer at any time.

Toupargel, even closer to its customers

In 2009, Toupargel introduced a new delivery system and now all the customers within a single catchment area are delivered by the same delivery agency. Delivery routes are worked out by dedicated home delivery software. Service is now more flexible and more reactive.

By 2013, Toupargel expects to have enhanced its neighbourhood services by the introduction of a new delivery and sales organisation, based on the deployment of "store concepts", whereby each telesales and delivery team will work together to cover a single catchment area.
